Well, as an initial option - it works fine. Depends on the complexity of the project and the amount of RAM
As for software - see if there are versions compatible with m1

Of course, the piece of iron is excellent, there are no words, but for example, 1C still cannot fully work on M1 - there are distributions, the 1C: Enterprise platform is installed, but it is impossible to obtain a license locally. Thus, 1C on a Mac with M1 can only be used if the license is issued by another machine, i.e. the database must be on its own server or in the cloud.
