Is it worth buying a mac mini?
Hello, how does the mac mini perform in web development? And not only. Is it worth taking it, or is a PC still more reliable.
Now I have a laptop, 8/512 and i7-8550u. But, it processes for a very long time, it is worth opening something significant, given the large number of tabs.
I do frontend, Angular, Vue + Node JS, sometimes PHP (Laravel). I use Web/PhpStorm.
I dug through a cloud of reviews and opinions about "Mac or PC", but just got confused. The last berth remains, so this is your personal experience with the work of poppies or PCs.
I am considering MacMini 16gb/512gb m1.
PS The maximum amount I can afford is 2k $

Mac mini = laptop, but on MacOS, so it will be more tenacious and faster than
a PC - it will always be faster and cheaper, because it will not be a cut-down percentage like you have in your laptop, but a normal one, with a normal heat pack, and it will not heat up if assembled normally
From my personal point of view, a PC is ALWAYS more reliable than any portable system, because there is more space, air, easier to maintain, assemble, repair
MacMini 16gb/512gb m1 -
take a super config, don't hesitate
and don't forget - pisi and vindos this suffering
the choice of pisi can only be justified if you don't have money for a poppy pro, but you need the same horse performance with expensive video cards
for your tasks, the minik will be enough for sure
https://browser.geekbench.com/macs/mac-mini-late-2020
and you can easily sell in five to ten years
The mother flew to the PC - I bought a new mother. Suspicions of problems with the RAM - I plugged it into another slot. Found a faulty opera / slot, replaced the opera / mother. I wanted a bigger screw - I bought a second / third / fourth one, put it in, use it. The network card/zvukovuha flew - bought pci-e option. I needed a video card - I installed a video card (cake). The power supply flew off - I went to the nearest store for a new power supply.
And in other words, since you ask such a question, and have a financial resource of 2k Baku for a new computer, then yes, you are probably the target audience of the poppy, take it.
PS The maximum amount I can afford is 2k $
Why suffer, why rely on someone else's opinion?
Just buy the mac mini you like from Apple's online store on their website.
You will have a month to try deploying your production environment and try out all your working configurations/cases/tasks.
If you don’t like it or something doesn’t work and the workarounds don’t suit you, the trick of the Apple store is that you can simply return it within a month and get your money back. Buy something else.
We have one Mobile (I) dev and two webs in our family - front and back. Everyone bought the same Air M1 16/256 in the spring and everyone is very, very happy - I moved from a 13-year-old MacBook to i5, the rest from fresh desktops on Intel and Ryzen.
Everything works, everything is fine, everything is enough for everyone.
Try it too.
