Is 4gb of RAM Enough for Mac OS?

Good day! There was a need to purchase a Mac Mini, but since funds are limited, the maximum I can afford is the MGEM2 version with 4gb of RAM and i5 with Intel HD Graphics 5000. Will all this be enough to work in Xcod, Textmate, Coda and simple everyday tasks (multimedia , browsing, working with photos in primitive editors and working with documents)? Will the system itself slow down when working with several applications?

Enough, it won't.

Everything, as always, depends on the wishes - 100500 tabs in the browser == ate at least 16 gigs of memory .... This is correct for all OSes!
The problem is - in the latest Mac Mini - the RAM is soldered in. Then don't add it.
Draw conclusions (or buy last year's model, and then we shove ordinary SODIMMs).

I have a macbook air. 4 gb RAM. Enough is enough, but that's just not enough. It’s better to add 5 thousand and buy at least with 8, because it’s enough for work, but of course it will be more comfortable at 8. Bro 100500 links correctly said, I now have 16, so little. because a lot of things began to open.
And sometimes I run a virtual machine on Air, but then it’s better not to open more than 20 tabs in Os X.
