Is it possible to work remotely abroad (from Russia) that is NOT freelancing?
Good afternoon.
I'm trying to explore the possibility of working remotely (web developer) from Russia for a foreign customer.
After viewing foreign remote vacancies, there was a feeling that only applicants (at least) with a work permit in those countries (or even with a physical presence in that country) are required there.
I have not yet seen a single foreign vacancy for remote work, where they would even just consider an individual entrepreneur from Russia who wants to work on a permanent (indefinite) basis 40 hours a week, and who does not have a work permit there. Usually, the matter does not go further than the question "is there a work permit?"
The question is: how realistic is it to be a Russian individual entrepreneur, live in Russia and at the same time work remotely for a foreign customer (without having a work permit there)? Or is it exclusively freelancing? How to explain to a foreigner what I want from him - they simply do not understand. How can it be called there, abroad, by what term? Are there any sites with such job offers? Can such work be indefinite - or is it always limited to a specific period? And, if it is limited by a certain period, then how does it differ from freelancing?
Is it possible somehow, looking at a foreign remote vacancy, to determine whether it is worth applying there or not? In most cases, they explicitly ask what kind of visa you have. Should such proposals be rejected immediately? How then to look for such a job? And where? Freelance - not interested. Are there any technologies for finding this kind of work? Does such work exist at all, and what does it look like in terms of working conditions?

SyavaSyava correctly described the essence of the problem.
Therefore, freelancing with the opening of an individual entrepreneur and currency control is a scheme for legalizing remote work for a foreign company.
