Is it possible to watch IPTV on Raspberry Pi without buying an MPEG2 dongle?

I wanted to connect IPTV to Raspberry Pi with XBMC and faced the fact that the video is not playing (there is sound, but no picture). I read on the forums that the MPEG2 codec is required to play IP channels.
