Having vmlinuz on the phone carrier, it was possible to start the computer, rummage through the Windows registry, disable self-starting trojans ...
Today, Google has headed for the Media Transfer Protocol (when connected to a computer, it looks like a camera or a music player in Windows), and, it seems, killed making the phone look like a USB drive.

It is theoretically possible to boot from a camera or music player, but the result will depend on the specific model.
