Is it possible to scale macOS interface elements on 4K monitors?
I purchased an LG 27UD68-W monitor, resolution 3840x2160.
Connected it to Macbook Pro 2014. And everything got terribly small. Fonts have become very unpleasant, as if cut with scissors. Actually everything can be seen in the photo - joxi.ru/zANkOzzCB8Ypjr
So it should be? Or can something be done about it?

First, I want to draw attention to important points that may come in handy. Your Mac supports:
1. 2560x1600 at 60Hz via Mini Displayport (up to 2 external monitors). For one monitor, it will definitely give out a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable.
2. There is also a variant to take the Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter. But then the adapter must support 4k resolution (this should be indicated in every possible way). Then, perhaps , he will give out 4k at 60Hz ! With such an adapter, they even connect 4k to old macbooks (but for them it seems like 30Hz). Haven't tried it myself. But I would try and announce the result to everyone =)
3. Via hdmi output, with frequency loss. As correctly noted in another answer, "Support for 3840x2160 pixels at 30Hz or Support for 4096x2160 pixels at 24Hz"
Lost on your question. Regularly increase the size of the elements of the Nizya system. But you can output a smaller resolution, in high definition - HiDPI resolution. This will solve your problem.
There are 2 ways:
The first one is here - www.fitzweekly.com/2016/03/enable-hidpi-resolution... With it, you will be able to use HiDPI with the standard system tools. BUT this doesn't always work. For example, I have allowed a maximum of 1600x900 in HiDPI, which is very small.
Second - download this program www.madrau.comand adjust your HiDPI resolution. For example, you need to output FullHD HiDPI (1920x1080). You are creating a custom scaled resolution of 2 times the size (3840x2160). Desired resolution * 2 = Desired HiDPI resolution
Pros:
+ Fast switching from tray. You create several setups - 1. Your standard 4k resolution 2. FullHD HiDPI 3. And for example, 2048×1080 HiDPI (4096x2160) Probably for 27' this is optimal.
+ This program is the only one of its kind that will allow you to create any HiDPI resolution that your video card can handle.
Minuses:
- I noticed that my vidyuha is a little tense. Noticeable only when viewing YouTube in HiDPI resolution, it lags. I also solved this problem - by turning off the laptop screen when working with an external monitor (also a small quest). Vidyuha has become easier and there are no more lags =)
