Is it possible to install oem windows from a laptop to a PC and activate it with a key all from the same laptop?

Hello everybody. I immediately warn you that I do not understand this issue very well, therefore, in fact, I ended up here. There is an Hp pavilion 15-p100nr laptop with windows 8.1 preinstalled, and there is also a desire to pick out this Windows from there, or rather its key and put it on a PC. Question: can it be done? In fact, I already have the key. Having climbed the forums, I realized that I needed to find the right version of Windows (I have windows 8.1 core single language). Is that all it takes to reinstall the system, or is there some other device affinity? (for iron for example)
