Is it possible to connect to arduino mega via usb with power connected?

The crux of the issue is in the title. I plan to connect via usb to the raspberry. But apply power so that if the raspberry is turned off, the power on the duin is preserved.

Uno switches between power sources automatically. I think Mega does the same.

Arduin has a Schottky diode on the USB port for power supply, in order to receive it from USB in the absence of external power on the arduino, external power can be supplied to the arduino in two ways: stabilized 5V through the 5V pin will go directly to the controller or 7-12V through the VIN pin or the PSU connector will be converted to 5V by the built-in regulator. Arduino, if there is an external power supply, will first of all be powered from it, and only then from USB.
