Is it possible to connect a MacBook Pro 2017 to an iMac 2011 via HDMI?

Good evening!
Can you please tell me if it is possible to connect an iMac 2011 as a monitor to a MacBook Pro 2017 via an HDMI cable? USB-C to HDMI adapter for MacBook and HDMI to Thunderbolt for iMac are available. There is not only the cable itself, so I think it's worth buying.
