Is it possible to clear the resize_cache folder?

Hello!
Google PageSpeed complains about unoptimized pictures in the /upload/resize_cache/ folder
installed a module to optimize pictures, including resized ones ( https://clck.ru/EPvKZ ), is it possible to somehow regenerate the contents of this folder or clear it? (won't something break on the site when clearing this folder?) I cleared the
cache in the settings.
Thank you)

Yes. You can even delete.
In general, when you want to learn something similar, you can simply try renaming the folder. In general, any folders with cache in the name in Bitrix can be deleted. And just cache and managent_cache

Yes, you can delete. At the folder itself, it swelled up to 40 gigs with 100 products. Inexplicably. If you rename a folder, a new one will be created and thumbnails will be overwritten. The site works well, nothing is broken.

I renamed the folder. Some of the images in the catalog were recreated, some were not. You also need to clear all cache. Then everything is fine.

I myself encountered the problem that the product thumbnails (/upload/resize_cache/iblock) were created empty, renaming the folder helped.
I noticed that the permissions on the folder are 755, and the new folder created automatically has permissions of 777 ... is this not quite normal?
