Is it possible to change the border color of an input using nested characters?

I recently got acquainted with Sketch, learned what nested symbols are and how you can use them to change symbol representations, such as, for example, text on a button, button color, icon. It's very cool, of course. I want to create my own blank with UI elements, but I'm stuck on inputs. I can't figure out how to change the color of the border to implement different states. I don't know if this is even possible, that's why I'm asking.

@Ivnika

First create two symbols - two states
Then combine these symbols into one more - now you can select a state in a new symbol
In general, study nested symbols in a sketch)
