Is it possible to build a RAID5 array without one disk?

Is it possible to assemble a software Raid-5 with a planned number of disks of 4, but on 3 disks (as if with one dropped disk)? The fourth disk will be with data that will need to be transferred to the array, freeing the disk, and add it to the array (make a rebuild)?

For example: only 4 disks of 8TB. Of which there is data on one of the disks, you need to eventually get a 24TB RAID5 (+ 8TB for redundancy) with data saved.

Easy on Linux.

You should be aware of the risk during the rebuild: the error of any disk - and you can lose data. On the last disk, they will already be overwritten, and the array at this time will not yet have redundancy. It would be nice to have a backup.
On Windows, probably, such focus will not turn out.
