Is it possible to block certain requests in the browser?

Is it possible to block certain requests in the Google Chrome/Mozilla Firefox browser?
For example, it is necessary to block some advertising materials, but not only visually, but so that even no requests are sent to advertising sites.
If it is not possible to cut requests, then at least somehow stop them immediately, and not wait until they are completed.
Ready to consider not only extensions, but also programs (if any).

Adblock and Ghostery block requests. You can look in the console for all this request-fall. Especially on YouTube when watching a video, for example.

The vast majority of automatic services wind up indicators. It is simply more profitable for them than to raise these indicators for you (likes / reposts, etc.) due to targeted traffic. You can just keep an army of a couple of thousand bot accounts and sell their actions. Nevertheless, they are also useful, but only in order to raise the group in general from scratch. Target traffic enters empty groups reluctantly.
As soon as we have exceeded the first thousand of those who have joined, it's time to end these cheating games and start working with real traffic. Otherwise, you will simply deceive yourself.
You will need some kind of tool to find the target audience, analyze it, clean it from bots and create remarketing lists. For example, "Cerebro" is suitable for this, or a similar tool.
Then you just work with teasers, test CTR, reduce the cost of a click, the cost of a subscription, etc.
You can try to buy ads in similar communities, but their audience should also be tested on teasers first, and the communities themselves should be analyzed for cheating indicators.

You can post a post "I, admin, will run naked through the red square as soon as this group reaches 200k subscribers", and exchange ads with other large publics.
PS I constantly see examples of the implementation of this method.

High-quality and interesting content
Every day, 2, 3 times
Subscribers can be manually, you can cheat, but this is not an easy issue - you need to solve it with a specialist
And so on.

As they wrote absolutely correctly above: "The main source of targeted subscribers is VKontakte search, but again ... in order to get to the top of the results, you need to have a large number of those same subscribers, so in any case you will need to buy / wind up ps." (c)
Most recently, the task was to promote the VKontakte group. I tried several praised services ... Sorry, but sitting and manually clicking each like is masochism.
Result: VTope program ( vto.pe ). Which was also advised to me, and on the Toaster.
a) We register Twitter, Instagram, Ask.FM, YouTube and VKontakt accounts.
b) The program performs the actions ITSELF, you do not need to click anything manually.
c) We spend the earned points on the desired result.
Personally, the program has been working for me for a week now. For a month they promised ~ 5000 points, and that's about it. ~80-120 people are added to the group per day. Units come out.
The creators of the program promise a complete simulation of the actions of a live user, which excludes a ban. I am rather superficially familiar with the rules of VKontakte, but I note that ...
According to a person, a VKontakte account lives up to a ban for about a month (you don’t have to worry about accounts in other services). My acc (ess-but fake, which was created specifically to work with the program) got banned a week later. Reason: joining some freshly created group (about 50 people), which seemed suspicious to the admins. More precisely, THEIR ways of attracting people to their group (after all, they also use VTope).
Verbatim:
spammers have used your page to mass join groups in order to advertise and promote these groups.
If you yourself joined the community on the instructions of the social exchange - alas, you yourself allowed your page to be used for cheating. Social exchanges will have to be abandoned, otherwise the blocking will continue, and the period will increase.
This page was frozen for a suspicious entry on your behalf into a group (in which, to spite the spammers, you are no longer a member).
However, I noticed that VTope is used by both "newborns" with a number of people no more than 50-100, and " giants", where the number of people exceeds 20,000. I entered both there and there. Banned for "baby". Just a coincidence? Or "giants" do not arouse suspicion? Don't know...
I sent a code request, unlocked the acc, I continue to turn subscribers. Perhaps, for a relapse, the blocking will be more stringent. So I try to do everything as carefully as possible: the VK acc is not a member of the group and does not show any connections with the group at all (no likes, no reposts, etc.); I periodically clear out groups and subscriptions so that the work of the account does not stall (the number of groups and pages for the user has a limit).
In a week I got 784 subscribers (in prime time - faster, at night - almost stands still). A few more weeks, and the program will not be needed: the group will be in the top of the search, and users will join it themselves. Which is what was required.
In general, try it. Most likely you will not regret it, you will be satisfied with the result (still, it’s not for you to manually click).
The only ESSENTIAL disadvantage of VTope is that the program crashes with an error every 1-8 hours (randomly). So far no cure has been found.

You can promote a VKontakte group using free or paid promotion methods by making contests. For example, after the group reaches 2-3 thousand participants, you can make a competition. Naturally, 2-3 thousand should be real participants who like posts, repost and leave comments
