Is it possible that the HDD will break?

Hello.
I rented a dedicated server in one company, and looked at the status of the disks in SMART, and it says that the hard disk has been working for 49,000 hours (5.6 years).
Is it dangerous to use such a disc? Or nothing?
I'm afraid that it will break after such a time of work along with the data.

I would not rely on chance and beware of storing valuable data on such a disk.

There is always a possibility, and the system must be designed in such a way that a failure does not harm the work, or harms only slightly.
And if there are many disks, then failure is a planned event.

"dedicated server" is it a physical device or service?
If the service is then the lifetime of the HDD should not worry you, the safety of your data should be specified in the contract, otherwise such a service does not make sense. However, you cannot have access to SMART. Therefore, I dare to assume that you were sold some kind of left piece of iron. In fact, a "dedicated server" is just a stand-alone computer on which some data is stored and some programs are spinning that provide remote access to this data. As a rule, to ensure the safety of data, information on disks is stored in RAID arrays. Failure of the RAID array completely situation is unlikely.

In SMART there is more useful information than just the time of work - there are estimates / estimates of how the hard drive is alive or dead.

5 year old discs are changed by default, there is no need to wait for their death, they are changed once every 5 years even if they are alive.
