Is it more profitable to be a developer in St. Petersburg than in Moscow?
I ask for an answer from the guys who managed to live in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
If you look at vacancies on HH, then the basic positions of middle, in Moscow, in St. Petersburg, promise about 100-120 thousand. I don’t see much difference, except that there are more offers in Moscow.
At the same time, if we consider the cost of real estate, then for the money of a odnushka within the framework of the Moscow Ring Road, in St. Petersburg you can buy a three-ruble note in the nines of 1978-1986 in the Vyborg district conditionally. And it’s as if it’s obvious that a family is better in a three-ruble note than in a one-room apartment. And in general, the cost of living according to services looks cheaper in St. Petersburg.
Therefore, there is a feeling that in St. Petersburg the money is better than in Moscow. Is this true, or am I missing something?
ps the question of money interests. Climate and so on - I don't really take into account.

Well, it all depends on the criteria of profitability.
Moscow is bigger, more offers, more action and money. But dirty, noisy and too many people.
St. Petersburg is quieter, there is less work, less income, the city is more beautiful in itself. But there are really a couple of sunny days a year and a rather humid climate. Another minus is that St. Petersburg is falling apart and there are a lot of problems with the urban environment. There are few places where you can find a six-lane road on the central walking avenue, or, say, the facades of historical buildings, behind which there are no buildings anymore ...
In any case, each of these cities will seem like paradise to you after some Ust-Pryamokishkinsk ... And you will not like it after you start looking around and analyzing. Or you won't like it if you don't start.
What in Moscow, what in St. Petersburg, for a salary of ~ 120k, an "apartment" awaits you in a panel ghetto on the outskirts with a mortgage for 20+ years and an overpayment of two or three times. Well, the only difference is that in St. Petersburg you will probably spend less time on the road (or not).
My advice to you: learn English and leave. St. Petersburg and Moscow time can be used as a springboard, nothing more.
In Moscow, there will be more income and expenses. If you manage to save, then in Moscow you will be able to save more.
Climate and so on - I don't really take into account.
But in vain. In the south, there is practically no sun in winter. Only in severe frosts, which are rare. Straining wildly. In SPB will be about the same.
Moscow is the best option. There are more sunny days and cooler amenities. I am telling you as a resident of Tashkent. Was in St. Petersburg, I do not understand those who say that St. Petersburg is the best city! Dirty, cold, no amenities!

We must go to Moscow. In St. Petersburg, it is much more difficult to find a job and salaries are many times lower.
