Is it legal to leave UpWork?
Two questions
1. If a client wants to hire me as a full-time office employee, is that a legitimate reason to leave UpWork?
2. If I was made a co-founder, is that a legitimate reason to end my contract with UpWork?

Do you need to bother so much?
Customers come and go, but an Upwork account is expensive. Moreover, a side job may be required at any time.
Just silently work outside of Upwork and that's it. Most importantly, do not discuss it in the chat;) The contract can be closed with the note "work completed successfully."
Money loves silence, and a talker is a godsend for Upwork :) Close the contract with a good review, work calmly offline.
According to the upwork rules, you cannot work for the employer for two years after the end of the contract.
That is, you break the rules in both cases.
Change the contact person of one of the parties. Depends who needs it more.
Just close the contract with the customer, give each other positive feedback and calmly continue to work directly, without talking about it to the upwork support customer.
