Is it legal in Russia to rip a CD to listen to on an mp3 player?

Can you please tell me if the Russian legislation allows me to rip my music CDs in order to listen to this music on my iPod?

Obviously, there is no desire to pay twice for the same content.

Google does not give a clear and unambiguous answer.

> if the disc from which the personal copy was taken is quite legally obtained, is rip considered legal in FLAC?
according to Russian law, yes. There is another point: if you have a licensed disk, then the downloaded rip from this disk will also be legal for you. But the releaser still violates it, even if only you downloaded it. How.

Alas, I can't provide references to legislation. But there seems to be something like granting the right to listen to the musical works contained on the disc, if the disc is licensed.

Legal. Every citizen has the right to freely reproduce lawfully published audiovisual works. The collection from importers of electronics for free reproduction ("tax on blanks"), as conceived by the legislator, is intended to play a compensatory role for copyright holders in such cases.

Legal if for private listening for personal purposes. This is what we are now paying Migalkov for.

Hasn't DRM been screwed into the iPod yet?
