Video cards

Is it enough to replace the video card for gaming?

I have a computer:
mb Asus P5QPL-AM
cpu Intel Core2 Duo E6750 2666 MHz
memory 4 Gb DDR2-800
Is it enough to buy a normal video card (what kind?) For modern games, or do I need to change the whole system?

For gaming PCs, it is important to have a balanced configuration, for example, it makes no sense to have a top processor coupled with weak video, or vice versa. One will slow down the other.
From experience, there was a computer with a slightly more powerful processor and NV 550 video. Games that are not the first freshness work relatively normally, but on average. F1 2012 - below average settings for a comfortable game.
But for modern games, it's still better to build a new computer.
Not necessarily top (if money is tight), the main thing is balanced. I have a bunch now: Intel Core i3-4130 | the cheapest of the latest i3 series | + NV GTX 650 + 2 * 2Gb RAM (1600 MHz) / it is better to buy 2 * 2 than 4, the main thing is that the motherboard supports dual-channel mode /
All games run, even at maximum speed (the same crisis). If you collect on a budget, then it’s better not

For a comfortable game, change everything.

Depends on what you expect to receive. If only "playability", then only a video card is enough, perhaps even RAM. If you want super duper graphics and loading in half a nanosecond.... that's another matter. On the third hand, almost all mainstream games are released on consoles - there is no need to worry about hardware, but games are more expensive.

In this case, change everything.
