Is IE8 still needed?
The question is mostly for those who work in companies, but the answers of freelancers are also interesting. I read that Microsoft stopped supporting older versions of Internet Explorer in January of this year. Does this mean that there is no longer a need for cross-browser layout for IE8? (Maybe at some official level) Or do you still have it in your responsibilities?

What side is the termination of software support due to the fact that overnight everyone will refuse it ?
Whether the layout for IE8 is specifically needed depends on whether the customer agrees to pay for it additionally .
If the customer is lucky, then the layout is such that the features of IE8 do not affect. If not - drive the loot.
That's how it was before the end of support for IE8 - what they think about themselves in MS does not affect your duties in any way . It's only the money that pays you, not MS - that's the only thing that affects whether you do it under IE8 or not.
Whether clients with IE8 are important for the customer depends on the audience of the site (the difference between those sitting under IE8 can be many times) and on how seriously the customer takes this and whether he has extra money at all.
On my site, which brings me the main loot, they come in with IE6 and Opera 9 percent 5% - I had to make a special version of the site for them.
If you are asking from the point of view of the customer, then economic feasibility must be considered , and not just like that. If you have an old version of the site, then look at the traffic statistics there . Calculate how much you earn from these visitors . Ask the developer for the cost of reworking for these old versions. And draw reasonable conclusions.
how zadolbal these moronic questions ....
if the customer wants IE8 and pays you money for it - you do it under IE8
if you do something for yourself - decide for yourself whether you need this necrophilism
The main reason why IE8 has been supported for a long time is that it is the last supported IE in Windows XP. Relatively recently, the share of this OS was not small - now it is already in question whether it should be done under IE10 (for new projects - the old ones already know from the statistics what they need).
