I would say "Yes", but I will say "Depends on the office and your skills."
And it doesn't hurt to have a "crust".
Dude, in IB the main thing is trust. quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who will guard the watchmen? Here you come all dressed in white and say "I'm an information security researcher!" - and in response to you, "So what? Who knows you, researcher? What did you do if you are not even able to get a tower?"
And you will go, scorched by the sun ... Because no one will entrust their data to a left-handed dude who is looking for an excuse for his laziness / unwillingness / inability to get a tower.
And I even became interested. How can you DEMONSTRATE your achievements in the field of information security? In programming, I understand. In DataScience, I understand. Even in sys.adminstve - more or less I understand. But in IB?
And another question, what are your achievements that can outweigh education?
It depends on what you mean by ib researcher. If you are a pentester or AppSec, then you just need to take a course at the mail.ru university. In non-Moscow universities, practical safety is not taught, there are only the basics with 80% of non-professional training.
