In my opinion, assessing your soft skills is very difficult. Theoretically, you can ask colleagues, friends - but where is the guarantee that they will tell the whole truth? I don't have an answer here, I'm curious.
hard skills are not a problem - there are tests, certifications, the same Toaster / Stackoverfow.
