Is Angular 1.x still up to date?

Hello!
I recently started studying the first Angular, wrote a couple of simple applications on it (to-do list level), but the question arose: is it still relevant? I met several opinions on the Internet: some say that after the release of the second Angular, the first version is obsolete, while others say that they cannot be compared at all ...
I would like to get a more specific answer.

You are a customer, you need some app. Do you have a choice to do on the old or on the new version? What will you choose?
And why learn the old? What would take on the completion of someone else's code?
In my opinion, the answer is so obvious that it is not even subject to discussion.
Give at least 1 example, why do you need to learn something old?

More than up to date.
Well, no one bothers you to learn both versions.

In fact, the second version is worth learning, because it is very different from the first in quality. It won't be long before people realize this and move on to the second version.

Relevant, but mainly within the framework of supporting the old code. New projects should not be started on the first one. But if you start learning the second now, then by the time of release, it will be easier to get a job in the relevant vacancies.
