Is a graphics card important for a monitor outside of gaming?

Screen size 27
Resolution 2560x1440 2K

But I have a gtx 750 video card
Will it suffer there and run the fans at 200% when connected to such a monitor?

Will games be more difficult to run on such a monitor?
Now it costs 23 inches full hd and cs go, dotA is at the limit of its capabilities.

Outside of games, everything should work fine.
It will also be possible to play, but probably not at maximum settings.
