Is 2D non-platforming realistic on UE4?
I was about to start making a platform game, and suddenly there was an overwhelming desire to make the initial project (a 2D roguelike with a top-down view), but something I'm not sure if this is possible on Unreal. One dude from here said that supposedly there is a Paper 2D that I know about and I know that it is for platformers. To this he said: "Where is it written here?"
Indeed. After all, the instructions for the outlet do not say that you cannot insert a table fork there. So, you can !!
But to be honest, is it possible to make at least something 2D on Anrial that will not be a platformer? If not, then this desire will be "crushed" by real
possibilities Unity that didn't even run UE4

How to make 2d in any 3d engine:
1) turn on the orthogonal camera
2) coat everything with quads
3) profit
Can. The issue is complexity and time. But I don't think it will be much longer than on other general purpose engines.
There is a wonderful GML + GameMaker Studio. Look in their direction.
