Intel HD 3000. How to reduce the amount of memory allocated from RAM?

I have a Lenovo S400 laptop. It has four gigabytes of RAM and two graphics cards - an integrated Intel HD 3000 and a discrete AMD Radeon HD 7450M. The problem is that the first card is allocated 1.2 GB of RAM, of which it uses about 300 MB. When more performance is required, an AMD card with its own video memory is turned on. As a result, out of 4 GB, I only have 2.8 GB of RAM available. Is it possible to somehow reduce the amount of memory allocated for integrated graphics?

It seems to me that it is impossible to allocate so much memory to such a video camera, do you just have 32-bit Windows?

Well, laptop developers often cut down the settings in the BIOS to the very priests, so if not, look for third-party firmware or something else, and you must act at your own peril and risk. As an option, write in those. support, but I'm not sure that will help. Well, look at the memory allocation in the Device Manager, memory is eating not only vidyaha.

You most likely have a free empty memory slot in your laptop. DDR3 is a relatively inexpensive format on the market now and I think it's quite reasonable to spend 600-700 rubles on another 4 gig bar, instead of flashing the brain and risking completely killing the system.
If I'm not mistaken, then you need a bar like this:
market.yandex.ru/model.xml?modelid=6055063&hid=191211&show-uid=018815413530041751
You can also find it on eBay, but not much cheaper.
And if you don't need 4, then you can buy 2 even cheaper:

Install 64 bit Windows, add more memory if the laptop allows

Author, did you find a way to do this?
Ps I have the same video card on my computer, I use it only for work and it's a pity to allocate 512 MB for video.

The same problem. 16GB memory, Win 7, integrated Intel HD 4000 and discrete AMD Radeon HD 8600/8700M.
The system starts with normal ~1.5 GB occupied by Windows and startup programs. Then the amount of memory used jumps sharply to 9.5-10 GB. I thought "how so"?
Googled for a long time, I thought that Intel was to blame for everything, I found a FAQ on their website from memory explaining what's what. It was written there that the card cannot reserve more than 1.7 GB in win 7, I checked it - it is, the card eats 1280 MB. So it's not her.
I began to google and found a way to determine what memory eats , but it was already late and I wanted to sleep.
In general, the problem was not in the video card, but I think the links provided may come in handy.
I use a virtual machine giving it 8 GB and thought: if something takes 8 GB before the machine starts, then it probably just won't start? I tried to run it and what was my surprise - it started up, and the amount of memory consumed increased by only 100-200 MB! Tricks from SuperFetch, which previously occupied memory for a frequently used task? Don't know..
