Install ubuntu next to windows 10?
There is a laptop with windows 10 installed, the bootloader is regular. How to put Ubuntu next to it to save the Windows bootloader? I think to put grub and ubuntu in one section, and add an entry with a link to grub in bootmgr. Will it work like that? And how to implement it in general?

First you need to allocate free space for Ubuntu (in Windows or from a bootable Ubuntu flash drive, for example, through the gparted program).
If the system is EFI, then there must be a FAT32 partition in which the Windows bootloader lies.
Split the unallocated area into the necessary sections for Linux (root, home, swap, etc.).
Install Ubuntu, reboot, grub should essentially be installed automatically, and it should detect the installed systems at boot, usually it looks something like this:
- Ubuntu
- Advanced options for Ubuntu
- Windows Boot Manager
If the bootloader with Windows suddenly crashed, then it is easy to restore it using a bootable USB flash drive with Windows 10, on which you can write an image with Windows in advance. And then boot from a bootable USB flash drive with Ubuntu and reinstall grub.
