Information security distance learning. Waste of time?
Good day. I want to seek advice from experienced programmers.
A few words about me:
I'm 23. Already 2 years in IT (front-end). For the last year I have been working in the company as a React / React native developer.
I always wanted to get an education at the university, but there was no way.
This year, fortunately, such an opportunity appeared, and I decided to act in the direction of information security. I'm a little worried about the fact that I won't get enough high-quality education in the correspondence course to finally move into this direction. It's just that if you take an ordinary programmer as an example, then everything is more and more clear for me there, you create a product and improve your knowledge of the language / technology (for example, on your own). But what about information technology security? Is it possible to become a good specialist in this field by studying in the correspondence department? (Of course, you can also learn on your own between sessions)
