Impact of settings on VM performance?

Do “Nested VT-x/AMD-V” “PAE/NX” “Nested Paging” settings affect the performance of a Linux guest OS? If so, what combination achieves optimal performance? (Other VMs cannot be started inside a VM)

Depends on OS bitness. For 32-bit systems, it doesn't really matter, but for 64-bit systems, you should also enable the paravirtualization interface.
