I wrote to support yesterday about this issue. I came across an inadequate project with an inadequate manager. A Ukrainian outsourcing company (Light IT - let the country know the heroes) handed over to the customer a non-working project in the form of a set of zip files with a lie that this is an 80% finished project. Now he is looking for people who would bring the project to mind.
Since you can’t look at the source before accepting the contract, I spent several hours, I realized that he was bred as the last sucker. These guys have never written in Python/Django in their lives, and have most likely never completed a complex project in their lives. They left behind an amorphous mess of bicycles, demonstrating that they got to work without even reading the Django Tutorial.
The customer has an expectation that in a month it is necessary to revive the blood from the nose. I told him that this is an absolutely unrealistic period, since the value of this code is not even zero, but negative. Because he is not a technical person, then in general he didn’t believe me, and in general, it’s difficult to work in conditions where you have tens of thousands of lines of junk code pulled from I don’t know where (if they pulled from StackOverflow, it would be even better), and you every 30 minutes they pull: “When will at least something be ready? The counter has already hit $200, do something finally!”
I closed the contract and made a refund, since I started working on Friday, and the week limit has already passed.
In support, they answered me that any work after it is accepted affects the rating and this cannot be changed in any way. They advised me to choose projects more carefully and consoled me with the fact that this experience would not have a big negative impact on my rating anyway.
