I have a MacBook Pro (not M1). I think there is no difference if we are talking about M1 or some other ( updated: there is a difference). If you use Windows-specific technologies, you will have to install Windows, which I had to do (UWP). I realized one thing for myself, I don’t need MacOS and I’m not interested, if I work on a laptop, then only in Windows. At the same time, I'm not a fan of Windows, it's just more convenient for me. Macbook is interesting for the first week, when I finally bought what I wanted for so long, because it's so unusual, MacOS! A laptop costs space money (mine costs more than 200). I bought it, opened it, played it, everything is cool, interesting. I work on Windows. On MacOS, it will be possible to use the Rider development environment. You can’t take it and open it on the subway, because if you have a MacBook, then you have to drive a Lamborghini, or fly a helicopter. You will constantly meet smiles (look, with a MacBook in the subway !!!). Oops, I got carried away.

Yes, you can.
.NET 6 runs natively on M1. VS for Mac, Rider, and VS Code too.
Worth/not worth it is a matter of personal preference.
