Buying a MacBook in Europe?
Good afternoon.
I'll be in Europe in a month, I want to buy the new Macbook Air'13. Is it possible to get tax free if the laptop is bought in Amsterdam/Paris, but then I will fly to Prague and return to Russia from there? What are the possible pitfalls?
It will be great if you share your experience. Thanks in advance.
UPD :
On apple.com for Holland the cheapest MBA'13 of this year costs 1129€ (including 201€ tax), for France — 1099€ (including 180€ tax), and in Prague you can buy only from resellers and the price is almost above Russian. Cheaper than in the official department in France, it turns out, not to buy?
UPD2:
Regarding tax free in the case of a flight between EU countries:
If you are traveling on to another EU country, get the stamp on your Tax Free Form at your final point of departure from EU ( source ), so this question is out of the question.

Ugputu , I have engraving for example. Laptop from USA.
Tell me what's wrong :)
Buying a laptop in Europe, even with a VAT refund, is not the most profitable way
. Personally, I took my Mid-2012 Air from the USA from Amazon, through the intermediary Polar Express - it turned out much cheaper: $ 1039 + $ 30 shipping, 2.5 weeks - and a laptop from me. In Russia, this model (MD224) cost at least 42 thousand at the time of purchase
. Engraving is also an option, but you can fly in with a guarantee; I type in Russian blindly, without stickers and engraving :)
Now the Air 2013 is currently running, according to the same scheme, the savings are even greater - native $ 999 in the States plus $ 30 shipping. You can find out the price of a laptop in Russia from the hucksters :)
Taxfree can be returned in Russia at MasterBank.
They need to clarify how the procedure works.
Once upon a time I bought an iPhone in a Parisian apple store, asked for tax free there, they wrote me some paper with a check, stamped something else and sent it to some office.
Or rather, there was even just a stall in the shopping center where you could return the tax on the spot, the only thing that was required there was a credit card from your country, so that it was clear that it was from outside the EU. This is where I had a bummer, since I didn’t have anything sane at hand :)

I bought air in Thailand, vat (7%) was returned at the airport upon departure.
I did not engrave, I type blindly.
It cost 36 thousand for the minimum configuration 13 'in February 2013.
I think that it is best to take mail from America, although it is scary.
Macbooks are also cheap in Thailand
