I have 500 gigs on my hard drive but only 52 are visible, what could be the problem?

I formatted the hard drive and it's still 52 gigabytes, I don't understand why. Where did 448 gigabytes go? Is there any technical solution to this problem?

You only have one partition created (I'm guessing it's the C drive for the system), the rest is just unallocated space. Open disk manager and create a second partition on the unallocated space.
