I am studying applied computer science, is it worth it to learn web programming on my own in addition?

Is it worth it to study web programming on my own so that I can work on a freelance exchange if I'm studying applied computer science? these are absolutely two different areas in IT, so I'm asking)) It just seems to me that it's better to work for yourself (working as a freelancer on the stock exchange) than to be a system administrator in some company. And then you ask, they say, why am I then studying to be an applied computer scientist, if it will not be interesting for me to work in this area? I will answer: I just left school without receiving a complete secondary education, and entered the metropolitan college in this area, well, purely for interest, if I later work as a freelancer, even though I will have a diploma in my hands that I have a classification of a programmer technician.
So far, I've just got familiar with HTML and I know what it is, and soon I will start learning CSS, then PHP, etc.
Another question arose: Those who work as a freelancer, are you satisfied with such work and salary?

You confuse warm and soft. As a freelancer, you work not for yourself, but for many different uncles, while you need to constantly look for them, negotiate and protect yourself so that they don’t get thrown. It is MUCH easier without work experience to get a job somewhere and pump up at a real job. And no one bothers to try your hand at freelancing in your free time and decide whether you are mature enough to give up permanent earnings in favor of freelancing.

Where and whoever you study, if you do not study programming on your own, you will not be a full-fledged specialist upon graduation. It is MANDATORY in the IT field to engage in self-education and try to practically apply knowledge.
