Hyperlinks on tablets?

Actually such a question: is it difficult to surf sites on a tablet and click on links with your finger? Ozhin, my customer told me to make links on the site buttons, quote:
“Plus, all links should be made as buttons, so that it would be easier to click on the ipad.”
Since I don’t have a tablet, I can’t check it, tell me who uses it. I strongly resist such a wish, because. links are links, not buttons.

Use padding, the click area will increase

a { padding: 4px 6px; background: #eee; color: #00c; }

Well, the client is right. If you look, then I make all the versions of the site optimized for tablets (at least the interface ones, and not in the text) with buttons. Or a block with decent padding so you can poke normally.
Look at the Google tablet, for my taste a great example. tyts
You can show the customer and convince him.

It VERY depends on the tablet and the quality of its digitizer and browser. On the phone under WM - poking at links was a hell of a hell. On the iPad and iPhone - you never miss at all.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
