HP ProBook 4510s "Battery connected, not charging." How can you decide?

Yesterday there was a problem with the battery on my HP ProBook 4510s. After a power outage, the laptop automatically switched to battery power. After the battery was dead and it turned off. In the evening, I did not notice anything suspicious, but today, turning on the laptop, I found that the battery charge was only 41% and the system wrote "connected, not charging." If you unplug the power supply cord, the laptop immediately turns off, as if the battery was not inside at all. With only one battery, it does not react at all to the power button. When the power adapter is connected, the charging lamp lights up, but after about 1-2 seconds it goes out.
Searched the Internet for similar problems. I removed the battery from the device manager, rebooted, it does not help, everything is also 41% and does not charge. I took out the battery, turned off the power supply, kept the power button pressed for a minute to discharge all the capacitors, but when connected, the situation did not change. All the same 41% and not charging.
Is it possible to somehow cure this or still have to buy a new battery?
