How to work with a tape drive?
Hello everyone, the question for experienced system administrators may, of course, seem silly, but still, everything happens for the first time, as in this case, my meeting with a tape drive, so please don’t scold me much, the essence of the question is that I encountered a tape drive for the first time, from HP, commercials 5-8 and years ago release, and questions arose:
- How to first check what is generally recorded on it?
- How to organize recording on tape? Those. How can you write to it both scheduled backups of data and individual files?
- How is everything recorded from the media then read if necessary?
The IP address of the media and the admin login / password are known - I go through the browser via IP, I can view a bunch of information about the state of the drive, but I don’t see anything related to the organization of reading and writing data, the IP address of the drive as a target drive for saving data is also useless
