How to use mnemonics to memorize abstract words correctly?

Good day, I read an article on mnemonics ( https://habr.com/ru/company/englishdom/blog/328112/ ) and I'm trying to learn English words.
For example, there is the word Maintain, I wrote it down in the dictionary like this:
Maintain - MIKE ANTIC (such as Mike's sculpture from antiquity must be maintained in order))
Am I doing the right thing? Please share how you remember such abstract words. Thanks

I'll put in a penny of my opinion. Shit as for me, not a way to learn English. It is better to read more literature in the original, translate all devices into English, watch only English-language programs, films, TV shows, with English subtitles. Until there is an English-speaking ecosystem around you, all your attempts to learn English by perverting the language and adding sentences in Russian to it will not bear any fruit.
PS: at one time I improved my English very well in three ways - when I got a job in a company with English-speaking clients for outsourcing, downloaded the series Friends in English with subtitles, and ordered Harry Potter in the original. By the end of the 7th book, the last season, and the second year of work - the conversational language was at the pre-intermediate\intermediate level, only the grammar remained at the level of the village, but it was not a profit, so we will omit it.
