How to use disk space on hosts?

There are more than 200 hosts on the network, not counting servers. All have between 20 and 300 GB of free disk space. Of course, the idea crept in how you can unite this place in something like lvm, only on windows. And get such a big storage for everything. You can even combine hosts into clusters and replicate information, for reliability. And all user directories (slave table, documents) should be stored immediately in these clusters, for reliability. So I'm looking for a software solution based on any server. There are debian, freebsd and win 2008 server on the net.
