How to transfer a domain to linux?

There is a domain based on Windows Server 2008 R2, with AD, DHCP zones, N-th number of users with groups.
All this goodness needs to be transferred to linux, the distribution kit is not particularly important.
How to do it correctly and correctly?

AD and user groups cannot be transferred in any way.
Write everything from scratch. Something is bound to break. Nothing without it

In the sense that the transfer of AD to samba is a thing that has never been worked out. Something will probably glitch in it, something will not rise, something will break, especially if you have not just a repository of passwords and groups, but there are ornate GPOs, software auto-deployment and other chips.
How right? Yes, how it works - and rightly so, all the same, fucking and tibidoha will be up to heaven.

Not necessary. And your task, as a system administrator (if you are a system administrator), is to convince the management of this. Buy a winserver, it is not so expensive for the organization.

If you're a small business, try Zentyal . It can be hooked up to an existing domain, and then reconfigured into the main controller. It must be understood that with such a transfer there will certainly be problems.
