Why does PhpStorm (Linux) slow down?

PhpStorm slows down, for example, when you open the settings for the first time, it thinks for 7 seconds (specially timed) before opening them, and then it opens instantly. And so it is with almost all functions that require the opening of dialog boxes (with code completion, for example, the same trouble). Moreover, both PhpStorm itself and the project are on SSD.
The phpstorm(64).vmoptions file is default.
What can be done to rip it off?
What values can be set here for phpstorm(64).vmoptions, am I ready to allocate 2-3 gigs of RAM to it?

Found an article about settings blog.jetbrains.com/idea/2006/04/configuring-intell...
update2:
Not sure who edited the title of my question on the sly?
In this form, "Why does PhpStorm under Linux slow down when I first open the settings?" does not correspond to the essence, I gave the settings dialog box as an example, all windows slow down - for example, suggestions or a drop-down menu when clicking on a project, etc.
At least write that the moderator or who you have here is a UFO? - edited the post.
Thanks to all.

@arbakar

Followed one of the tips found - disable unnecessary plugins.
I turned off most of it, it really became faster - at least the settings began to open in 2 seconds against 7 :)
