How to start a WordPress project for complete beginners?

There are two guys. The guys have an idea, one has a little knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS, the other has a more solid knowledge of Java and back-end in general. The guys decided to raise the project on their own, at the same time gain experience, but somehow things are not really moving forward. At each stage, we catch ourselves thinking that there is not enough knowledge, not enough experience, not enough advice from a mentor. At the moment we have a general design concept and a very early alpha of a site without a garter with a back-end. Today I got the idea to try building a project using a CMS, specifically WordPress. But again, we have zero experience in this CMS. Now to the heart of the matter: tell me where to start, maybe there is some kind of literature, what to pay attention to? Perhaps we do not need WordPress at all, given the specifics of the project? To sum it up a lot, then our project is related to the reservation of tables in a restaurant. It is not known what specifics, nothing is known, except for the general theme. It will be a blog about how to reserve tables, it will be an aggregator of restaurants where to reserve, it will be a boarding page that will show a table in a restaurant ... and you can reserve it ...

On Drupal, you can do it with almost no knowledge of php, but you need to know Drupal. It takes a long time to figure it out from scratch.
