At the moment there is no way to connect a PC to the Internet via cable, so I decided to use a USB modem. In the settings of my samsung A5, I met a problem: the usb modem button is simply not available, gray and does not respond to pressing. The phone is connected and charging. From the Xiaomi phone, everything works perfectly, but there is no way to use it on a permanent basis, since this is not my phone. I will be very glad to answer, I hope, on the topic

Just distribute the Internet via Wi-Fi. Or change the USB connection mode in the phone settings. A year ago, there were practically no Android smartphones with type-C supporting OTG connections - i.e., while "charging is in progress" nothing will be transmitted over the cable.
