How to solve the problem with the hard drive?

Good afternoon.
Picked up a computer. Installed the original Windows 7 MSDN. Download the Nvidia driver from Site, when unpacking writes that the archive error. From the disk that came with the video card, everything was fine. Also, errors occur (of a different plan) when installing other drivers and programs (cannot be unpacked, etc.) I sin on a WD 500gb WD5000AAKX hard drive. What else could be the problem?

The problem may be in faulty RAM - and there it most likely is. Usually, the inability to unpack the archive indicates problems with the RAM.
Burn a boot disk with memtest, boot into it and run memory tests overnight.

I downloaded the driver to another computer and transferred it to this one. Everything installed and unpacked without errors

Boot from some LiveCD, for example, from this one - nnm-club.me/forum/viewtopic.php?t=828373 (this will eliminate possible windows glitches). Test the hard drive with Victoria. If there are bads, then the hard drive is to blame, if not, dig further.

If all the drivers were downloaded from the network, then there may be a problem with the network card, or cables, connectors. You can check for a test after downloading the md5 cache, where it is provided.
