How to connect a computer to a laptop?

I have a main computer for which I work, and a laptop with a large hard drive. Is it possible to connect a laptop as an external hard drive? OS on both is Windows 8.

You register statics 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 on one host and 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 on the second, connect with an inverted ethernet cable. Profit!

Macs can be hacked by Fireware. For Windows, there are special USB cables like "Belkin transfer cable" with their own software, but this is closer to synchronization, and not work like with an external drive.
