How to set up a webcam correctly?

Good afternoon.
Help solve the problem.
There is a REAL-EL FC-225 webcam.
It works fine, the system (Ubuntu 16.04) detected and connected automatically.
But there are a couple of things that do not suit me:
1) The indicator on the camera is constantly on, it seems that it is constantly working.
2) The microphone is constantly working.
How to solve these two problems?

There are three ways to find a solution:
1. Physical: cover the camera's eye and microphone hole with opaque tape and don't worry
. -something uses the default camera. Unfortunately, Ubuntu is not strong.
3. Moral: it is possible that this webcam works by default after connecting to a computer.
