How to set FTP write permissions on Raspberry Pi?

I can't set up permissions in such a way that I can write and edit files in the /var/www/ directory on the Raspberry Pi. When writing to the personal directories of the pi user, there are no problems. FTP server - vsftpd . I tried to prescribe the command sudo chmod 777 /var/www and reboot - without success.

Read man vsftpd.conf carefully and configure as you need.
