How to run an X11/Xlib program in terminal mode?

Classic X11 skeleton, from the guide.
In main() call system("/bin/some_software");
Those programs that give output in plain text feel great,
but those that use Curses, or other good things, naturally do not work ...
How to start them? do you really need the implementation of the terminal on Syah? I think there is a much easier way
