Shortcut to a file in Ubuntu that is on an FTP server?

There is one program on the Ubuntu server (ssh only) that needs to specify the path to a certain file. The problem is that the file is too big, and you can only specify it locally (/dir/file.txt). That is, the file must be located on the server. And on this server there is generally not so much space for such a file. But there is an ftp server that has a lot of memory. Question.
Is it possible to create ftp, or at least http, a local shortcut to a file so that it is perceived by the system as "own"?

Symbolic links? FTP can be mounted.

You can mount a remote drive via NFS and work with it quietly.
