Once I did this not by mistake, but on purpose, because I do not like GPT and consider the Windows recovery partition useless (it is needed once in the entire life of the computer). Then I restored the normal boot of the OS. Everything was done by booting from one of the popular LiveDVD/LiveUSD, using the repair and recovery package 2k10.
First I converted GPT->MBR (by Paragon HDM). Then he demolished a bunch of miniature system partitions, leaving C and D (the second one for storing user data), attached empty space to the nearest large ones. And finally, I restored the boot with the BootICE utility, choosing the latest bootloader type (lowest in the list). There are many download restorers in the 2k10 package, one will not help - we try the next one, and to the bitter end (I didn’t succeed right away either).
By the way, Win10 usually does not want to be installed on the MBR, and the method described above is good to overcome these kicks.
